Last hurrah for now

We’ve had a finale type meal at Nava before each child so this had to be no exception. This baby loves alligator tacos & cheese fritters! Finished it with the chocolate cube. I’ll be dreaming of that meal for a long time.

Vote for Kevin McMurry for Superior Court Judge

… and just like that the family blog becomes a political soapbox.

You know you are getting old when your law school buddy becomes a judge. It hasn’t happened yet, but the odds are better than ever. One of my best friends, Kevin McMurry, has been an ADA down in Coweta County for several years now and has been tirelessly putting the bad guys away, real law and order stuff. It has been fun for me to watch his career and see what I call a “real lawyer” in action. Now an opportunity has arisen and Kevin has entered the race for Superior Court Judge.

Now, I know those of you reading this probably don’t have ties to Coweta County, but I think most of us would agree that it is important to have wise, God-fearing and intelligent men and women on the bench, especially those that UNDERSTAND THE ROLE OF A JUDGE. Don’t get me started. But needless to say, Kevin falls into that category.

So, I want to unleash the thousands of followers of this blog to support Kevin in any way we can. At the very least, go right now to Vote McMurry and hit the Like button on Facebook. If you know anyone who lives in any of the following five counties (Carroll, Coweta, Troup, Meriwether, and Heard), please take the time to make sure they know about Kevin and encourage them to get out and vote McMurry.

Asian love

Being pregnant, the main thing I could eat every day is Asian food: warm, comforting & plain yummy. This drove me to discover a cheap take out place near us that I’d never been brave enough to try before. It’s a true hole in the wall & thanks to the miracle of google reviews, it sounded good. I made a big deal about it w/ the kids a couple months ago & they actually loved the food. I think it’s china wok but I’m not positive. Feel kind of bad about that. We’ve still made the 15 min “trek” to our favorite a couple times (little Bangkok ). This is getting boring. So the point is for my birthday dinner, dons whole family was joining us so I chose PF changs because, well, think what you will, but there’s no denying its good & there’s something there to please everyone. I didn’t know how the kids would do at such a “fancy” restaurant where the lighting is dim & the food doesn’t come in 5 minutes. Well, just looky here:

The next morning at breakfast, they asked to eat with chopsticks.

we are having a low-key morning of packing and cleaning and getting ready for all the Christmas traveling and excitement! sometimes when it’s a rainy day and we are staying in, i get antsy, to say the least. but i have learned that my mood and attitude rubs off big time. we have CHOSEN a good attitude this morning and God has been so good. there has been some wonderful playing together by the kids and i wanted to share some choice words i have overheard:

playing with the fake kitchen food and coffee pot. M: do you like spicy coffee? C: yes, i like a little spicy. M: how many cafs do you want? one caf or two cafs? C: i like, um, three cafs. M: there aren’t three cafs. just one or two cafs. C: ok, one caf. M: weel, daddy likes three cafs so let’s make his with three cafs.

Finally made it to see Santa

We just sat through an obscene amount of traffic to go the three miles to Lenox from our house. I thought the Santa line would be impossible. But lo and behold, we experienced a couple of Christmas miracles: we got a great parking spot and that line was not bad at all. Cora is “not smiling for Santa” which she declared through the day that she would do when the time came. Now off to our traditional post-Santa chick-fil-a.
